Drama
LOVERS IN A DANGEROUS TIME is romantic tale centered around two former childhood friends; Todd, a small town could-have-been, and Allison, an overly nostalgic children’s book illustrator, who are reunited at their ten year high school reunion and embark on a childish yet romantic adventure recapturing the life they use to live. However, major questions arise, like “what does it mean to have shared a bathtub at three?” and things get even more complicated when Todd’s younger hockey star brother returns home. The result has them spiraling into delinquent behavior where scorching campfire antics, teenage bush parties and childhood memories only delay their impending return to adulthood. In the end, it’s a story about those that are unwilling to let go of their youth and the means they will undertake to hold on to it. LOVERS IN A DANGEROUS TIME won the Maverick Award at the Method Film Festival and the Best Canadian Feature Film Jury Prize at the Okanagan International Film Festival.
Documentary
Returning home to a small town in Montana for her high school reunion, Kim Reed hopes for reconciliation with her long-estranged adopted brother. But along the way stunning revelations are uncovered, including a blood relationship with Orson Welles and Rita Hayworth, intense sibling rivalries, and unforeseeable twists of plot and gender. Reed's rare access delicately reveals not only the family's most private moments, but also an epic scope as the film travels from Montana to Croatia, from jail cell to football field, from deaths to births. Questions of sexual orientation, identity, severe trauma and family love are effortlessly explored as the subjects freely open up their lives to the camera.
